5,171

This SkyTalk aims to increase States’ awareness in advance of the November 2020 applicability date of the ICAO methodology for assessing and reporting runway surface conditions. This new methodology, commonly known as the Global Reporting Format (GRF), ensures a harmonized assessment and reporting of runway surface conditions, enabling an improved assessment of take-off and landing performance by flight crew. Watch as Paul Adamson, ICAO Airport Operations and Interoperability Officer, discusses the importance of States’ planning, the need to ensure awareness and provide training.

During the A40 Assembly, ICAO will be broadcasting SkyTalks workshops that will be shared with a broader audience throughout the year. These Sky Talks share the knowledge of authoritative presenters and knowledgeable industry professionals. The format includes 30-minute presentations in front of a live conference audience. The recorded presentations are being shared with the public through this blog and our associated social media platforms, reaching hundreds of thousands of aviation professionals online.
