Next week we will bring together aviation leaders, experts, and stakeholders from around the world to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities in the aviation sector. Hosted in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, this year’s Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) is exploring how cutting-edge technologies, sustainability efforts, and international collaboration can redefine the future of air transportation. We will be recording the sessions as they take place and sharing them on ICAO TV for on-demand viewing.

The programme was designed to tackle the complexities of modern aviation; GISS 2025 is addressing critical topics like the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), the evolution of airspace management, advancements in safety protocols, and strategies for achieving environmental stewardship. The event provides a unique platform for experts, regulators, and industry leaders to engage in meaningful discussions and share insights on how to navigate the challenges and opportunities shaping the aviation landscape.

GISS is taking place from 10 to 12 February 2025. We are going to be focusing on collaboration and long-term goals.  Continuing our tradition of high-level ministerial engagement,  we will hold important discussions on resource mobilization and the global challenges impacting air transportation. Ministers and senior officials from various regions will join forces to address critical issues while advancing ICAO’s No Country Left Behind (NCLB) initiative. One of the key highlights of the event will  be ICAO’s long-term Strategic Goals. We want to emphasize the importance of collaboration between stakeholders to ensure that aviation remains a safe, sustainable, and inclusive global industry.

The new Global Sustainable Aviation Marketplace
At this year’s event we will introduce an exciting new feature: the Global Sustainable Aviation Marketplace. This innovative track will provide a dedicated space for stakeholders to showcase and explore sustainable solutions for the aviation sector. From green technologies to eco-friendly operational strategies, participants will have the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge approaches that underscore aviation’s commitment to sustainability.

Who is attending GISS 2025?

  • Ministries and civil aviation authorities
  • International and regional organizations
  • Air navigation service providers, airport operators, and airlines
  • Financial and development institutions
  • Human resources and training organizations
