Embracing aviation security as a mind-set beyond a set of standards

Enhancing global aviation security is an ongoing process with evolving technologies and process innovations. It requires a cross-functional approach, one that embraces security as a culture beyond a set of standards.

The 39th Session of the ICAO Assembly determined that a vision and roadmap for transitioning to a new forward-looking and holistic Global Aviation Security Plan (GASeP) was needed. This future framework must respond to the new trends, challenges and opportunities in aviation security.

The GASeP will provide guidance for priority-setting at the international, regional and State levels. It will create a framework where States can work with stakeholders to meet shared objectives, and support global solutions to common challenges.

Register now for the Global Aviation Security Symposium (#AVSEC2017), held in collaboration with Airports Council International (ACI). The event will take place from 12-14 September at ICAO Headquarters in Montréal, Canada. It will bring together AVSEC professionals from around the globe to enhance the mind-set towards aviation security. It will also encourage international cooperation and collaboration to address the threat posed by terrorists targeting civil aviation by reinforcing, strengthening and promoting the international framework of aviation security standards.
