When we established the ICAO Global Ambassadors Programme, the goal was to provide opportunities to raise awareness about aviation, and to work with future leaders, experts and innovators who share a commitment to its safety, sustainability, and reach.
As aviation prepares for a sustainable expansion— progressing towards zero fatalities and net-zero carbon emissions while tripling capacity to reach everyone, everywhere — the industry and ICAO face the challenge of attracting sufficient support for these goals. By showcasing the human face of aviation, not only does this programme promote our mission and Strategic Goals, it fuels a global movement to ensure a resilient and sustainable future for air transport.
We are thrilled to report that we have designated our first group of Ambassadors and Champions in the programme. These distinguished representatives will help raise awareness and inspire the next generation to become part of aviation, a field of opportunity, innovation, and global impact.
ICAO Global Ambassadors and Champions work across their respective countries and regions to promote aviation’s role in connecting communities and advancing sustainable development worldwide.
Through speaking engagements and community and digital outreach, Global Ambassadors introduce aviation to broad audiences and showcase the diverse career opportunities the sector offers. ICAO Champions lead strategic dialogue on talent development and workforce strategies, inspiring action toward policies that support a more inclusive and resilient aviation sector.
This programme supports ICAO’s vision for the future of international civil aviation and aligns with the priorities of our Strategic Plan, including attracting new talent and advancing a safe, secure, and sustainable air transport system for all.
