Did you miss ICAO’s Global Symposium on Innovation in Aviation?

By Uniting Aviation on January 22, 2021

In December 2020, ICAO organized an online global symposium that addressed innovation implementation in aviation. The ICAOTV broadcasts offered eleven sessions for the Asia Pacific region to address innovation implementation in different fields of aviation: environment, training, security and facilitation, artificial intelligence, digitization, rulemaking, new technologies.

What triggers innovation? Is technology always required for innovation? How do you stimulate and incubate new projects? How are regulations developed while innovation is developing? How do you change the mindset of individuals to embrace innovation?  How do you address newcomers who are not from the aviation world? All these questions created fruitful discussions among the CAA, ANSP, and the industry, and there were concrete examples of innovation projects under implementation in the Asia Pacific region.

The ICAO Regional Office would like to thank all the moderators and speakers from Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong China, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, IATA, ACI.
