An update on the Asia-Pacific Flight Procedure Programme

The 14th Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) of the Asia-Pacific Flight Procedure Programme (FPP) was held virtually from 29 to 30 November 2022. The meeting was attended by 21 participants from eight active participating States/administrations and ICAO.

The FPP Manager presented the accomplishments of the ICAO APAC Flight Procedure Programme (FPP) activities in 2022. The activities provided to the FPP Member States mainly focused on training courses which included 251 participants from 24 States, procedure design support including technical consultations to three States, a training introduction on the FPP website and guidance material development which included APAC FPP PBN procedure generic technical report template (Based on calculation tabular), ICAO APAC FPP RNP APCH procedure report template (based on GTT), APAC FPP individual assessment summary form for students and instructors, and APAC FPP survey form for students. In particular, APAC FPP also continued to provide technical support to the MID FPP, which was established in 2022.

The meeting unanimously endorsed the 2023 work plan of FPP, and agreed on the annual budget for 2023. In addition, the meeting collectively agreed to continue the FPP to Phase V (from Jan 2024 to Dec 2026). Its related forward strategy, the scope of activities and the funding proposal were reviewed and endorsed.

Finally, it was agreed that the 15th  Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) of the Asia-Pacific Flight Procedure Programme (FPP)  would be held in the 4th Quarter of 2023 and would focus on the details of the Phase V programme document to facilitate the smooth transition and implementation of Phase V.
