With the effects of the global pandemic still prevalent around the world, travel restrictions and other public health mitigation measures have significantly impeded the usual pattern of global mobility and freedom of movement. Government entities, airlines and airport authorities and passengers and so many others, have adapted to many challenges throughout the pandemic. This year our Seventeenth TRIP Symposium and Exhibition on ICAO Traveller Identification Programme (TRIP) addressed these challenges. We also discussed the processes that are in place to facilitate data sharing between States and to assess the States’ needs in light of this global situation.
This year’s event took place from 13 to 15 September 2022 at ICAO Headquarters in Montréal, Canada. Every Symposium provides us with a platform where we can exchange information on all aspects of traveller identification management. There are various sessions that will highlight our need for enhancing international cooperation and collaboration to facilitate the traveller’s journey while addressing the multiple threats faced by international civil aviation.
After last year’s virtual event, this year’s in-person event had a full exhibition with the sponsors and exhibitors featured below. They showcased a broad range of products and services related notably to travel document security applications, health proofs emission and authentication, border inspection and automated border control systems and identity management.
