Nepal’s heightened ICAO compliance results in Council President Certificate

ICAO Council President Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu has bestowed a Council President Certificate on the government of Nepal, drawing attention to the State’s significant safety oversight progress during 2017.

At a ceremony that took place at ICAO Headquarters on 12 June 2018, the special ICAO honorarium was presented by the President to Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the Honourable Rabindra Prasad Adhikari.

ICAO Council President Certificates were instituted by the ICAO Council in 2016. They are designed to highlight and encourage significant State achievements in the effective implementation of ICAO’s International Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) for civil aviation.

The eligibility criteria used for this recognition are objective and transparent and are based on the results of ICAO’s Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme Continuous Monitoring Approach activities.
