Last chance for this video call: We’re looking for students with sustainable aviation ideas

The future of sustainable aviation will depend not only on technological innovation and global cooperation, but also on the ideas and perspectives of the next generation. To help bring those perspectives into the global conversation, we launched the University Corner (UniCorner), an interactive initiative that will showcase innovative student ideas during ICAO’s 2026 Aviation Climate Week.

Under the theme “One Global Path: Advancing Net-Zero Aviation,” Aviation Climate Week 2026 will bring together governments, industry leaders, researchers, and international organizations from 2 to 4 June 2026 at our Headquarters in Montréal, Canada to discuss the latest developments in aviation environmental protection and climate action.

We have invited undergraduate students from ICAO Member States to submit short videos presenting actionable ideas and solutions to the sustainability challenges facing aviation. Selected submissions will be featured in a dedicated exhibition space throughout the event, giving students an opportunity to share their ideas with an international audience of aviation and environmental stakeholders.

Students are encouraged to explore a wide range of aviation sustainability topics, including sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), aircraft noise reduction, carbon emissions mitigation, sustainable airport operations, non-CO₂ climate impacts, circular economy approaches, and innovative aircraft design. The initiative is open to students currently enrolled in accredited undergraduate programmes and studying in disciplines ranging from engineering and environmental sciences to economics, law, political science, sociology, and related fields. Participants may submit individually or as part of a team.

Video submissions should be no more than 2 minutes in length and may be accompanied by supporting visual materials (optionally). Videos may be submitted in any ICAO official language, provided they include English captions.

In addition to having their work showcased during the event, selected participants may also gain visibility through ICAO communication channels. A limited number of complimentary passes to attend Aviation Climate Week 2026 in person may also be made available to eligible participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Submissions for UniCorner will be accepted until 30 May 2026 at 17:00 EDT. More information about UniCorner and ICAO Aviation Climate Week 2026 is available here:
